Christmas Eve

I can't believe today is Christmas Eve! Here is how our day went...

Emma woke up around 7:10. Why is it that on a weekday we have to make her wake up at 7:40 but on a Saturday, she is bright eyed and bushy tailed at 7:00? I think she secretly knows and finds it funny.

We started out the day with a visit to see Rachel and her new puppy, Lady.

Could she be cuter?
Emma loved her...unless Lady tried to lick her. Then she freaked out because she thought she was dirty.

She did enjoy playing ball with her though.

Then it was time to head off to the Christmas Eve service at church.

Isn't Emma cute in her pink dress and bow?

Before bed time, we made cookies for Santa. At first, Emma was only interested in stirring the batter.

But her focus quickly turned to sampling the batter...

...And then it was impossible to get her to understand that our purpose wasn't to eat the batter, it was to bake it.

Then we just gave up and our goal became to get the batter onto the cookie sheet as fast as possible so she would stop eating it!

She watches Daddy, but still continues to sample

Occasionally, she stirred it again

But it never lasted long - and the licking would be begin again

I think this one is cute! And I think it's funny that Josh has a sticker stuck to his back. Our house is full of stickers that have fallen off since we're potty training (she gets a sticker if she goes potty).

This is Emma saying, "All Done!" once we got the final cookie on the sheet.

I hope Santa likes his cookies & milk and that the reindeer enjoy their carrots!

Apparently cookie making took it out of all of us. Emma and Nala crawled right up on me as usual.

Great day! AND as a potty update: Emma pooped in the potty twice and tee-teed three times. Yay! Merry Christmas to me.
