'Tis the Season

To have chocolate and biscuits!

For going for frozen yogurt even when it's 40 degrees outside just because we can.

For singing Christmas songs incessantly into the microphone that Mimi and Papa sent you.

For goofing off and having fun making a gingerbread house.

For wearing your new Cinderella nightgown every night because you know Mommy will wash it for you over and over again.

For pajama parties!

And for playing games on Mom's new iPhone while looking more like you're 14 years old versus 4 years old.

For singing in the school Christmas program and being oh so adorable.

For being a big boy who loves standing up.

For being warm and cozy all snuggled up.

For being a smiley pants.

I hope your season was as merry and bright as ours was!

Christmas Day

Emma was so excited about Christmas this year. She counted down the days until Jesus' birthday and had a great time at church on Christmas Eve.

We left biscotti and milk out for Santa.

He must have liked it because he left James this:

And he left Emma all of this:

 The calm before the storm:

Emma woke up about 8:15 and couldn't wait to come and see if Santa brought her a cash register like she requested.  She was so happy to see that he had and she loves playing with it!

Looking at the loot from her stocking

Deciding which one to open next.

Emma "helping" James open some of his presents.

It took over half the day for Emma to finally open all of her presents.  She likes to open a couple and then stoop to play with them for a bit.  She really draws out the process.  But I like that because she takes the time to enjoy each one.

The aftermath

Curled up on the couch with the girls relaxing after breakfast.

Merry Christmas!!

Clifford

We went to the Clifford exhibit at the science center and Emma quite enjoyed herself.

Serving Daddy some food.

Collecting her money.

And then headed straight for the cash register.  She's definitely our kid.

Then she made him serve her which was funny to watch since he was so big inside the "restaurant."

James was good the whole time and just took it all in.
She was captain of the ship.

She found this Cleo costume and kept it on the whole time we were at this exhibit.  She didn't break character either.  She would NOT respond to the name Emma...we had to call her Cleo.  She's too funny.
Me and James watching Emma the entertainer.

Riding the train.

Finally made it to the Winter Wonderland exhibit.  She's so cute!
Always a good time.  She wants to go back tomorrow.

When James Grows Up

The other night as Josh was putting Emma to bed, they had this conversation...

Emma:  Daddy, we didn't talk about what James will be when he grows up.
Josh:  Well, that's up to James.  We'll just have to wait and see.
Emma:  But Daddy, I want to talk about what he will be.
Josh:  What do you think he'll be when he grows up?
Emma:  When James grows up, he is going to be my friend.

Yeah, that pretty much melted my heart.

Little Outfit

This little outfit was my brother's when he was a baby.  Isn't he cute in it?!  I have some outfits of Josh's that I want to put James in as well.  Stay tuned for those soon.
