This Mystery is History

Mystery: Why is my (most of the time) chipper and loving toddler all of a sudden irritable and fussy with no appetite?

Answer: She is cutting one of her two-year molars! I have suspected this for a couple of days but now I know for sure because yesterday she kept pointing to ear and pulling on it and saying "ear momma." On top of that, she has had three of those "teething diapers" over the past couple of days. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of a teething toddler before, their ears hurt because their entire jaw is in pain from trying to push a tiny tooth through their gums and thus their ears are affected. In addition, the teething process upsets their stomach and therefore you end up with terrible diapers.

Some of the fussiness came out over Thanksgiving, but overall we had a great holiday. Here is a recap:

We ventured to Pensacola to visit Nana and JD & Honey. We were also able to see Josh's brother, Jacob. It was great catching up with the family and Emma enjoyed seeing everybody.

I was in charge of entertaining Emma while Josh and Nana put the finishing touches on Thanksgiving lunch. So we went in the backyard and I decided to make it a photo opportunity.

Of course she headed straight for the swing

Even though this did not turn out wonderfully, i still thought it was cute enough to post

Emma has a fascination with flowers, so we stopped to smell approximately thousands of them while we were outside

After lunch we decided to all head down to the pier

My Huckleberry Fin child has her pants rolled up and is wearing socks. YES, socks! She was barefoot for about 2.4 seconds...as soon as her feet hit the sand, she freaked out and started whining. She was taking tiny baby steps with just the heals of her feet. It was so pitiful that we put her socks on and let her walk around that way (we didn't want her shoes to get all sandy and wet).

Love this one of Josh and Emma

Right now she loves the show Little Einsteins. There is a part in each episode where they pat their legs...here she is patting her legs and saying "pat, pat, pat..."

And here she is saying "blastoff" with her arms up in the air like they do after the "pat, pat, pat"

On Friday Josh and I went to a movie while Emma napped. We brought back some popcorn and let's just say that Emma was a HUGE fan! Look at that happy face! She was absolutely giddy.

On Saturday, we went to see JD & Honey. Emma loves going there because they have a big piano that entertains her until we drag her away. They also have a dog named Sugar. When Sugar is on the other side of a see-through door, Emma is her best friend. They played peek-a-boo for at least 10 minutes. She wasn't in the best mood for most of the afternoon though because of the teething situation, but we still enjoyed our visit. To top it off, went to eat at the Marina...after we finished eating Josh and his dad took Emma outside to look at the water. When we came out to meet them, they were teaching my little ladybug how to spit over the side. Men...You can't leave them unsupervised for a minute!
