Exhausting Fun Time

After busy season I took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese.

James thoroughly enjoyed his first trip and Emma had a great time riding the rides with him.

It was an exhausting fun time!

The Only Girl

In mid August, I was in the midst of busy season.  However, one Saturday, I took the morning off from work to go hang out with some friends from Emma's old school.  We both had so much fun!  {Pretend I am not a month behind on this post.}

Emma and Micah

Emma and Blake

Finding the perfect rocks...and then switching.  It was so sweet.

The only picture I got of Emma and Blake sitting still and smiling.

The whole gang.

You would think Emma wouldn't like being the only girl at this shindig.  But you would be wrong.  She prefers it that way I think.  She gets along so well with boys...her favorite are the silly boys.  I tell Josh that this is all his doing since he is so silly with her.  Better that I suppose than the bad boys.  I can't even think that far ahead...

James' First Birthday

September 4, 2012 this little guy was brought into our lives.

One year later...he is the joy of our lives!

I made him some baseball cupcakes to take to school to celebrate with his friends.

Look how big he is!

James and his teacher, Melissa.

Time to open presents.

This was the present Emma made for James.  She picked out an alligator and painted it all by herself.  It came with a couple of paint colors but she insisted on painting only with green because "alligators are green."

His one year checkup went really well.  I can't believe James was once in the 10th percentile.
Weight: 24 lbs. 2 oz. (90- 95th percentile)
Length: 31.5 in. (90 -95th percentile)
Head: 18.25 in. (75th percentile)
He now has twelve teeth...all the better to eat with!  He loves eating.  The only thing he does not like is eggs.  He took two very unsteady steps the day before his birthday, but hasn't done it again.  He is standing on his own very well as of this weekend.

He loves walking around with a chair so I got him a new toy and he is a HUGE fan.

He keeps us on our toes, that's for sure.  There is never a dull moment around here and we wouldn't have it any other way!

And Then He Turned One

James' First Birthday Party!!

Emma helped me decorate.

James LOVED the bouncy house.

He has no fear...

I love this little ONE year old boy.

Emma was so sweet with James in the bouncy...she protected him and wouldn't let any other kids bounce near him until he "got the hang of it" she said.

Pizza time.

SMASH CAKE!!

This one is blurry but it was funny because he got a ton of icing on his face and this was Emma's reaction...big gasp and hands to the face.

Family photo

What was left of his smash cake.

His big cake...it turned out so cute!

I can't believe James is already one...where does the time go?  Now my baby boy he is my big boy...my little rascal...my little marine...my little monster...my little shark...my little everything.  Mommy loves you James!
