NINE years

Happy Anniversary to my amazing husband, Josh.  I can't believe it's already been nine years.  Thank you for loving me, always making me feel special, and for putting up with my craziness for all this time.  I admire the great relationship you have with our daughter and I look forward to watching you become a father again to our son.  Love you!!

Wednesday

Since last Wednesday was a holiday, I have some random pictures that I took.  I finally took a picture of Emma's new butterfly bedding...which she loves!  She has always been partial to butterflies so when I saw this, I knew it was perfect for her.

Striking a pose
I think she like the camera a little too much.  She kept asking me to take another one.
Hanging out with Nala
I think this one is funny since Nala is mid-yawn.

As always, our days are never dull. Emma keeps us laughing and on the move at all times.

July 4th

We kept Emma up a little late on July 4 but it was worth it to see her face light up during the fireworks display.

Sticking her head through the sunroof waiting for the fireworks to start.
Josh pointing out the first firework in the sky.

So cute - I love this one of the two of them looking up at the fireworks.

Three and a Half

On June 30 Emma turned 3 and a half! We surprised her with a chocolate cupcake to celebrate. She loved it!  She's such a big girl now.  We are so proud of you, Emma!

She thought it was hilarious that Daddy put some chocolate on her nose.

Dr. Emma

Last weekend we let Emma pick out a toy because she has been so good lately.  She picked out a little pink puppy that came in a kennel with a whole bunch of doctor instruments.  She is very into playing doctor lately so it was the perfect toy for her right now.

She named the puppy Pinky and loves her so much.  Now she will all of a sudden say, "I need to be a doctor" and go get Pinky and her doctor kit.  The doctor kit also comes with scissors and brushes for the dog so that you can groom her.  Therefore, she has decided that not only is she a doctor but also a hair stylist.  Sometimes she will pretend to be our doctor too.  She listens to our heart, checks our ears, eyes, throat and reflexes...and then tells us to sit in the twirly chair for a haircut.  She is full service!

Her favorite doctor instrument is the stethoscope.  If she doesn't have this on, she doesn't think she is  a doctor.  Typically she will go through all the instruments and then tell me that I am okay and that all I need is a sucker and a sticker.

Dr. Emma listening to Pinky's heartbeat.
Riding the fire engine as we left the toy store.
Looks like there may be a doctor in the family one day!

Last and First

It was a sad goodbye on Friday to Emma's old daycare.  We will miss everyone so much but that commute was a killer in the mornings!  I made cupcakes for the occasion so her class could have a little goodbye party during snack time on Friday.

Good thing I got a before shot because they took a tumble on the way to school.  Apparently they still tasted okay though because every last cupcake was eaten.
For her special six friends who have with Emma from the beginning and her two teachers I put some Hershey's kisses and hugs into a cup.  Along with that I put a little note to say goodbye and signed  it"Hugs & Kisses" - Emma.
Ready to leave for her last day ( it is water play day of Friday, so they go dressed in swimsuits).  She was very excited for her last day because she knew that meant her first day at the new school was right around the corner.  She was so looking forward to meeting her new friends.  She was literally counting down the days.
And here is my big girl on Monday morning ready to start her new daycare.

Josh and I both went to pick her up that day because we wanted to see how her first day went.  She was over the moon about her first day and was hopping through the halls on the way to the car as she told us all about it.  She said her favorite part of the day was playing on the big playground.  A close second was that the ice cream truck comes on Mondays and she got to have a Popsicle.  She chose a yellow one with a pink center and she said it was yummy.  She also said she made lots of new friends and really likes her teachers.

I am so relieved that her first day went well.  I knew she was excited to go but a part of me was still worried that she didn't understand that her old classmates wouldn't be there to play with her.  As always, this transition was harder on me than it was on her.  I hope it always stays that way!!
