Emma came home one day from school and said she took a Teddy Tennis class that day. Josh and I just looked at each other and then back to her and asked, "What is Teddy Tennis?"
She tried to explain it to us but honestly it just sounded strange and we had no idea if there was real tennis involved or if there were a bunch of bears all over the place. She was so over the top excited about it though that we signed her up.
A couple of months later we got a note saying they were having a day where the parents could visit and come watch them play Teddy Tennis. Of course Josh and I were all over it. We both made SURE that we were there.
THIS IS TEDDY TENNIS:
They do all sorts of games and bear names are involved but it is centered around tennis. For example, Ready Teddy is what they call it when it's time to get in their tennis ready position and Head Ted is what they call the person in charge of each game. One of the pros from the country club teaches them and Emma just loves her.
She did good and you could tell how much fun she was really having. She said she liked it even more than ballet! We're not sure she'll ever be considered "sporty" but we'll go with it. They all got certificates at the end of the class with a shirt and a medal.
We wanted to encourage her new sporty side so we bought her a tennis racket so that we could practice at home. She's gets better every time she plays!
