BirthWeeks

December 30, 2008 is the day that changed my life forever! I became a mom for the first time. Here is how we celebrated Emma's birthday this year...I can't believe my baby is FOUR!  We shouldn't really call it a birthDAY though because she typically gets three weeks of celebrating  since it's so close to the holidays.

This year it all started on December 21 at her school because they were going to be out until the New Year.  I made cupcakes and took them for her class.  It was pajama day on this particular day, so the kids thought it was a great idea to top their fun day off with cupcakes in the afternoon.

Throughout the Christmas week, we had family and friends bring her Christmas presents and birthday presents so she kept celebrating right on through until her actual birthday on Sunday.

This year it was just the four of us celebrating her birthday.  We got pizza for lunch and a chocolate cake for dessert.  Afterward, we headed to the science center to let her play to her heart's content.

Since it was just us this year, we let her take her fork and just go at the cake.  She was excited about that idea.

But then got a little chocolate on her finger and it slowed her down.

Never wanting to be a quitter, she went back in for another try...being much more careful this time!

YUM!

She ate the icing off of an area and then deemed herself done and ready to open presents.

For about the past two months, every time she saw a commercial for this Dora dollhouse on tv, she would call us in there and say, "I wish I should have that for my birthday."  Not surprisingly this commercial came on a lot after Dora which is of course one of her favorites...so this happened A LOT.  It was the only thing she asked for, so we decided to get it for her.  She was SO happy!

At the science center being Cleo (from the Clifford exhibit).  She so loves this little purple outfit.

Fishing...she caught two!

We still have her birthday party this weekend.  Stay tuned for pictures on that.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!  Mommy and Daddy could not be more proud of you or love you any more!!
