Fast Friends

Today we met Summer and Sophia for lunch. It looks like this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship for these girls...

Trip to the Office

Last Thursday I had to take Emma to the doctor so he could prescribe something for the rash on her booty. We knew it wasn't a diaper rash and nothing else we used was clearing it up. It was all blistered and looked awful. Emma said it hurt to go to the bathroom which meant she was holding it in and having accidents. Poor little girl!

Turns out, it was strep! Her throat was fine, no fever, zero other symptoms. I had no idea that strep could take that form. He gave us some cream and an antibiotic and she is doing great now.

Thankfully she wasn't contagious at this point, so after the doctor visit, we swung by my office to pick up my computer so I could work some while she napped.

She had a fantastic time and got a lot of attention

Things got even better one she figured out there was a dry erase board in my cube.

She got the marker all over her shirt and my cube wall - oh well, not a high price to pay for happiness!

She literally kicked and screamed when I told her it was time to go. She did NOT want to leave. I wish I shared her love for this place!

Miss Independent

Emma is becoming Miss Independent more and more each day. Yesterday, she dressed and accessorized herself (with just one shoe) before she would eat her grapes...

Doughnuts with Dad!

Last Friday, Emma's school invited all the fathers to come have doughnuts with the kids for breakfast. They weren't able to get her to stop eating long enough for a picture, so of course this one shows her chomping away on the doughnut. Still a cute picture!

Not According to Plan

This Father's Day weekend didn't exactly go according to plan. Josh ended up getting strep throat on Sunday morning so we weren't able to go to church or do anything else that was on our agenda. Emma had strep throat about 3 weeks ago and I got it on Thursday. We've had it rough, but we're making it.

Thankfully, on Saturday we had a fantastic day...so for all intensive purposes, Saturday was Father's Day in this house. Here is a recap:

Make thumbprint art for Daddy:

Finished product - turtle thumbprints. I love them!

Emma got hungry after the thumbprints and some shopping, so we stopped by and got her a hotdog. This hotdog was a foot long and at least double the size of a normal, every day hotdog. Here she is wolfing it down. She ate an entire half, including the bun. We just knew she wouldn't eat lunch with us when we went a little later on.

But we were so wrong! She ate pickles, shrimp, a hush puppy, and some french fries. She was a bottomless pit that day!

After eating, we let her run off some energy as she looked at the waterfall and some fish. There was an aquarium inside that Emma absolutely adored. It made us contemplate getting a fish tank. The jury is still out.

Emma was a Daddy's girl this whole day.

I love how cute they are together.

After her nap, we went and fed the ducks at the lake. As any other young diva would do, she had to change outfits and put on sunglasses, a necklace and a bracelet. I'm sure the ducks and turtles were glad that she put forth the extra effort to accessorize.

This is Josh and Emma letting a duck eat out of their hand. It made me nervous, but Emma thought it was hilarious.

I love this one. They are both so happy and content.

Swimming in the back yard in the new pink pool Josh bought for her.

Emma's babysitter brought her old doll crib and changing table set over this weekend. Of course Emma took right to it and had it all set up in no time. Thanks Heather, for passing along your baby furniture!

Happy Father's Day, Josh - we will pick another day to really celebrate the day when you can actually come in contact with your little girl.

A big Happy Father's Day to my Dad today too! I am very blessed that I have you in my life. I miss you and love you!

My Turn?

Tonight Emma helped me water the plants. Originally I planned for her to play with bubbles while I watered. But Emma would have none of that! She said, "Oohhh Mommy, is it my turn?" How could I say no?
