Busy Season
On Sunday I had breakfast with Josh and Emma before heading in to work. Let's just say that Emma enjoyed her pancakes! She was eating away and all of a sudden we look up and she is licking the syrup and butter. And no, we didn't even stop her. We just laughed. Let's be honest, we would all do it ourselves if we thought it was socially acceptable in public.
My Mom made me some bedroom shoes...little slippers. She has made them for as long as I can remember. And I always wash them after a couple of times of wearing them. Naturally, I washed the new pair. Turns out that was not a good idea. Apparently they were wool and shrunk significantly. The bad news is I can't wear them anymore and I need a new pair. The good news is that they are the PERFECT size for Miss Emma. Here she is modeling her new shoes.

Lately Emma's favorite phrase is "I told you." She likes to think she is always right. I can't imagine where she gets this from. Anyway, I always drop her off at school and Josh always picks her up. Yesterday morning, she told me that she wanted Mommy to pick her up from school. I just didn't respond because I knew it wasn't going to work out. Well, it turned out that I actually had a little break yesterday because we were waiting on some information from a client. So I took the opportunity to go pick her up. Halfway home Emma says very matter of factly, "Mommy, I told you." I said, "What did you tell me?" She said, "I told you Mommy would pick me up from school today." I just thought it was so funny that she not only remembered but just couldn't hold it in any longer and had to tell me that she told me so. I love that little girl so much!!
I have also found out recently that she can sing the alphabet backwards! I certainly can't do that. I had to listen and think really hard (which is hard to do on little to no sleep mind you) but she seriously sounded like she got it all right. And she does it with amazing swiftness as well. I asked her how she knew how to do that and she smiled real big and just said, "I just know how to Mommy." Love!
Little Monkeys
If Weller sat on the yellow chairs, then Emma wanted to sit on the yellow chairs. If Emma put on a hat, Weller wanted to put on a hat. They were so cute!
